How to find and verify a quote in a long video

A usable quote is more than a matching sentence. Verify the speaker, inspect nearby lines, and retain a link to the original moment.

Search a distinctive phrase

Start with a short phrase likely to appear in captions. Pyntic searches its indexed transcript corpus; it does not search every YouTube video.

Inspect transcript evidence

Open the displayed passage and its context. Approximate matches are labelled separately and always include a supporting passage.

Preserve the moment

Play the timestamp, confirm it against the source, then save a browser-local reference or copy a citation. Captions can contain errors, so listen before quoting.
