Estimate YouTube ad revenue without false precision

Use views and RPM to explore a revenue scenario while separating an estimate from actual channel earnings.

A revenue calculator is a planning tool, not a statement of what a channel earns. Two videos with the same views can produce different outcomes because their audiences and monetization conditions differ.

Start with the formula

Estimated revenue equals views divided by one thousand, multiplied by an assumed RPM. In the calculator, enter both inputs explicitly. The result is denominated in US dollars and does not automatically convert currencies.

Use a range of assumptions

Try several RPM scenarios instead of treating one input as certain. Do not substitute an advertiser's CPM without understanding that it measures a different side of the advertising process. Actual analytics are more informative than a public estimate.

Keep other revenue separate

Sponsorships, memberships, merchandise and affiliate commissions do not follow this simple ad-revenue formula. Record them separately if you are building a full business forecast.

State the limits when sharing

Label the result as an estimate and list the assumptions. The calculator does not establish monetization eligibility, advertiser demand or a promise of future income. Use it to compare scenarios, then replace assumptions with observed data.
